About Nickel Silver Strips

Nickel Silver Strips

We, at Jedee Enterprise take the opportunity to introduce ourselves as one of the foremost exporters and suppliers of Nickel Silver Strips. Popularly known as German silver, our offered range of silver strips has a bright silver appearance but in reality it contains no silver. Some of the significant features of our silver strips are resistance to corrosion, impeccable performance and high durability. These Nickel Silver Strips are widely used in different industries for different applications.

Further Details:

Some of the basics of nickel silver alloy are:

Contain 10-25% nickel and 17-40% zinc with the remainder being copper.

Classified by their nickel content with higher nickel contents producing a whiter, silvery color

Corrosion resistance increases with higher nickel content and the resulting alloys are less vulnerable to stress corrosion. Strength also increases with nickel content but the increased nickel has little effect on ductility.

For industrial applications there is limited advantage in exceeding a nickel content of 18%, however for decorative applications a higher nickel content will provide maximum resistance to stain and tarnish.

The spring properties of the alloys are good and remain so at elevated temperatures.

The electrical conductivity of nickel silver is much less than that for copper.

Where a nickel silver alloy is to be machined, lead can be added to the alloy (usually 1-2%) to improve results. However, this will reduce the cold workability of the alloy

They are alloys of copper, nickel and zinc and they find many applications in house wares ie cutlery) as well as some industrial applications ie component manufacture).

Versatile Customization

Nickel Silver Strips can be manufactured based on precise customer requirements, including custom shapes, lengths, thicknesses, and widths up to 300 mm. This makes them suitable for niche applications where exact dimensions are crucial. Additionally, clients may specify the composition grade to match the technical needs of their projects.

Exceptional Material Qualities

Renowned for their silvery white luster and superior corrosion resistance, these nickel silver strips have a density of 8.6 g/cm and a base metal purity of 99.9%. Their mechanical properties and appearance make them ideal for both functional and decorative uses, from electrical contacts to musical instrument keys.

Diverse Applications

With grades like 65/18 and 63/15 available, these strips are suited to a range of industries. Theyre used in electrical contacts, relays, connectors, switches, as well as decorative items and musical instruments. Their adaptability is matched by the ease of fabrication, promoting efficient manufacturing and installation.

FAQs of Nickel Silver Strips:

Q: How are the dimensions of Nickel Silver Strips customized for specific applications?

A: The dimensions of Nickel Silver Stripsincluding thickness (0.10 mm to 3.00 mm), width (up to 300 mm), and lengthare tailored precisely to customer requirements. This allows manufacturers to provide strips suitable for unique and specialized projects.

Q: What benefits does Nickel Silver Strip offer in electrical applications?

A: Nickel Silver Strips offer excellent conductivity, corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength, making them highly effective for use in electrical contacts, connectors, relays, and switches. Their reliability reduces maintenance and enhances the longevity of electrical devices.

Q: When should customers specify the grade of Nickel Silver for their order?

A: Customers should specify the desired grade (such as 65/18 or 63/15) and any unique composition requirements at the time of order placement. This ensures the strips meet the exact specifications and performance needs of their application.

Q: Where are Nickel Silver Strips commonly used in manufacturing?

A: Nickel Silver Strips are widely employed in the production of electrical components, decorative items, musical instruments, and precision keys. Their adaptability and durability make them a popular material in industries ranging from electronics to decorative manufacturing.

Q: What is the process for ordering customized Nickel Silver Strips from suppliers in India?

A: To order, customers provide detailed specifications regarding shape, grade, dimensions, weight, and intended use to the distributor or supplier. The manufacturer then produces the strips to these exact requirements and arranges delivery as per the agreed timeline.

Q: How can using Nickel Silver Strips benefit the final product in decorative or musical instrument applications?

A: Nickel Silvers attractive silvery white color, excellent formability, and resistance to tarnishing help enhance the aesthetic appeal and durability of decorative pieces and musical instruments. The materials acoustic properties also improve sound quality when used for instrument keys.
